Really a historical but also graphical presentation.
I grew up in these places as my parents and grand parents and so on. It shows exactly how the mixture of nations for centuries does not relate to the transfer of passion or affection for education, social skills or indeed common language among them nationals. Greeks were educated, Turks required employed readers and writers, Bulgarians and Serbs were competing for influence among the slavic populations and some other slavs in Vardarska region were totally confused about the origin of their species. Rumanians were seeking an exit to the Mediterranean sea even if this would mean to displace other nationals or acquire them into their influential political sphere. Italians and Britons were accompanied with the French and Russians into the game of superpower influence.

But all the above in a daily presentation of sad, satirical or comical presentation makes an easy reading and an insight to the Balkan politics and life in the beginning of the 20th century.

Στα μέρη που μεγάλωσα εγώ και αρκετοί πρόγονοι μου, εμφανίζει ο Φρεδερίκος Άμποτ, τη κοινωνική κατάσταση μεταξύ των εθνοτήτων που ζούσαν στις αρχές του εικοστού αιώνα.

Με γραφική περιγραφή, παρουσιάζονται οι διαφορές των εθνικών ομάδων σε επίπεδα καθαριότητας, εκπαίδευσης, ρουχισμού, εργασίας, πολεμικής στρατηγικής, συμμαχιών, γεωγραφικής διασποράς και των σχέσεων μεταξύ των εθνών, αλλά και εντός της κάθε εθνικής ομάδος που ζούσαν στη Μακεδονία το 1900.
