Προς την κα. Υπουργό Παιδείας, Δια Βίου Μάθησης και Θρησκευμάτων
Θέμα: «Τα «Θρησκευτικά» στο Νέο Λύκειο».
Αυτές τις μέρες η κ. Υπουργός Παιδείας ανακοίνωσε το πρόγραμμα του Νέου Λυκείου. Ο νέος τίτλος υπόσχεται καινοτομίες και σύγχρονη θεώρηση του περιεχομένου της εκπαίδευσης. Ως εκ τούτου, εντύπωση προκαλεί το ότι στα υποχρεωτικά μαθήματα της Α΄ και Β΄ Λυκείου εξακολουθούν να βρίσκονται τα θρησκευτικά, με 2 ώρες στην Α΄ ως Θρησκευτικά και 1 ώρα στη Β΄ ως Θρησκεία και Κόσμος. Την ίδια στιγμή η Πληροφορική παραγκωνίζεται στα μαθήματα επιλογής.
Το Υπ. Παιδείας προχώρησε σε αυτή τη σύνθεση προγράμματος παρά το πόρισμα της έρευνας κοινής γνώμης «επί ζητημάτων Λυκείου και Λυκειακής εκπαίδευσης» που διενεργήθηκε μετά από παραγγελία του ίδιου του Υπουργείου. Σύμφωνα με το πόρισμα της έρευνας που δημοσιοποιήθηκε στις 20/03/2011, μόλις το 37% των ερωτώμενων θεωρεί πως τα Θρησκευτικά πρέπει να είναι υποχρεωτικό μάθημα, τη στιγμή που το αντίστοιχο ποσοστό για την Πληροφορική είναι 84,3%.
Είναι δεδομένο εξάλλου ότι η Πληροφορική εξελίσσεται ραγδαία μέρα με τη μέρα, ενώ το περιεχόμενο του μαθήματος των Θρησκευτικών επαναλαμβάνεται παρόμοιο στις τέσσερις τελευταίες τάξεις του Δημοτικού και σε όλο το Γυμνάσιο. Μάλιστα, καθώς σε όλα αυτά τα χρόνια, τα παιδιά στο μάθημα των Θρησκευτικών διδάσκονται αποκλειστικά τη χριστιανική θρησκεία και όχι τη θρησκειολογία, που εμπεριέχει μελέτη όλων των θρησκειών, από τον ιουδαϊσμό, ισλαμισμό, βουδισμό, ινδουισμό μέχρι και το ελληνικό δωδεκάθεο, ίσως θα ήταν πιο ακριβές να ονομαστεί το μάθημα «Χριστιανικά» αντί για τo παραπλανητικό «Θρησκευτικά».
Με βάση τα προαναφερόμενα, ερωτάται η αρμόδια κα. Υπουργός:
Με ποια κριτήρια και για ποιους λόγους εντάξατε στα υποχρεωτικά μαθήματα της Α΄ και Β΄ Λυκείου τα Θρησκευτικά, υποχρεώνοντας τους μαθητές να αφιερώνουν χρόνο και ενέργεια μελετώντας για άλλη μια φορά το χριστιανισμό, ενώ, ταυτόχρονα, παραγκωνίσατε την Πληροφορική, που εξελίσσεται διαρκώς, στα μαθήματα επιλογής; Θεωρεί το Υπουργείο ότι το μάθημα των Θρησκευτικών θα χρησιμεύσει πιο πολύ στα παιδιά ως εργαλείο ζωής από το μάθημα της πληροφορικής; Μήπως το Υπουργείο δέχεται κάποιου είδους πιέσεις από εκκλησιαστικούς κύκλους και παραεκκλησιαστικές οργανώσεις σχετικά με τη διαμόρφωση του προγράμματος των μαθημάτων στο σχολείο;

Ο Ντάνι Χίλις μιλάει για το επόμενο βήμα στην έρευνα για τον καρκίνο: την πρωτεωμική, τη μελέτη των πρωτεϊνών στο σώμα. Όπως λέει ο Χίλις, η γενωμική μας δείχνει μία λίστα με τα συστατικά του σώματος -- ενώ η πρωτεωμική μας δείχνει τι παράγουν τα συστατικά αυτά. Η αντίληψη του τι συμβαίνει στο σώμα μας σε επίπεδο πρωτεϊνών μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε μία νέα αντίληψη για το πώς προκαλείται ο καρκίνος.

Danny Hillis is an inventor, scientist, author and engineer. In addition to conceiving and designing the company’s major products, he worked closely with his customers in applying parallel computers to problems in astrophysics, aircraft design, financial analysis, genetics, computer graphics, medical imaging, image understanding, neurobiology, materials science, cryptography and subatomic physics. At Thinking Machines, he built a technical team comprised of scientists and engineers that were widely acknowledged to have been among the best in the industry.
